Participant-Focused Pairing
We are dedicated to ensuring participant satisfaction by building and maintaining meaningful connections between participants and their support workers. Our goal is to understand each participant’s specific requirements, prioritising choice and control in all we do. Through detailed assessments and open communication, we ensure that assigned support workers not only possess the necessary skills but are also attuned to the participant’s personality, communication style, and unique needs.
Supportive and Inclusive Atmosphere
We prioritise creating a positive environment defined by approachability and down-to-earth interactions. This nurturing atmosphere is invaluable for participants who may have faced obstacles in accessing quality support in the past. By maintaining an environment free from judgment and stereotypes, Open Arms provides a secure space where participants feel comfortable expressing themselves openly. This approach significantly enhances mental well-being and self-esteem, appreciating participants for their uniqueness and potential.
Consistent Care
We value continuity of care, ensuring participants are supported by familiar faces. Unlike traditional models with rotating support workers that can cause disruption, we maintain consistent staffing to build lasting relationships. This approach fosters effective communication, seamless goal tracking, and comprehensive support, reducing anxiety and promoting trust and empathy between participants and their support workers.
Individualised Care
Our philosophy relies on person-centred care, empowering participants to guide their support journey. We acknowledge the unique goals and challenges of each individual, enabling them to define their objectives, preferences, and pace of progress. This approach leads to a more enriching and meaningful support experience, with participants actively contributing to their care plans and advocating for their well-being. Seeing their aspirations turn into tangible achievements boosts their self-confidence and motivates them to reach their goals.
Fostering an Aligned Organisational Culture
Our culture encourages change and growth, providing participants living with disabilities a pathway to well-being and a more fulfilling life. Open Arms Community Services stands out in the field of NDIS disability services in West Melbourne by continually adapting to meet the evolving needs of our community.
